Updated psu tier list
MWE V2 seems to be able to pair with a 3080 judging off this review which states the OPP is set reasonably although it's the 750w unit that is being reviewed. That tier list was not updated to reflect that change for the 750W.
UPDATED PSU TIER LIST UPGRADE
Other CM gold models does not have much information and what little reviews I could find seems to indicate most of them are mediocre units so if you have to budget to replace after 4-5 years of usage, I would probably upgrade them solely because there's not enough information from reviewers for me to feel personally comfortable with the quality and reliability of the protections in PSUs although it may be fine since there's no third party verification. Two years ago, the RM 750W and 850W were updated to be just about the same as the Corsair RMx - a PSU among the best available to purchase, one thats better than even the PSUs you listed. Here’s a good video explaining the difference between them. In other words, don’t focus too much on this split of categories. There are rare cases where multi-rail PSUs can be useful, but only for PSU/PC enthusiasts. Cooler master have quite a few models of gold rated units, can you give an exact model? There isn't much reviews on coolermaster's gold rated PSUs I could find from the usual reputable review sites and those that I could find like V650 are actually pretty good unit with properly set protections so you should be good to reuse a V650 for a 3080. The 80 Plus website has a list of all certified supplies, so it is possible to confirm that supply meets the requirements. Single-rail (STier, A-Tier, B-Tier) PSUs are built to provide the best possible protection.
